Many authors have noted a 'participatory turn' in research; present across disciplines. There has been a proliferation of approaches and terminology, and diversity in the use and application of even the same terms. This presentation aimed to outline some origins of modern participatory research practices, and presents the audience with some key considerations, questions, and tools for use when planning or delivering such research.
